Well after a lot of hard work and preparation by members of both teams the sun shone on the thirty fifth day of dance  and illuminated beautifully the orange jackets of the employees of the private security firm employed to quosh underage drinking and other unruly behaviour (see press report). Unfortunately Adderbury Morris are well beyond the point where underage drinking would be an issue - can there be such a thing as 'overage drinking'? Although there was a certain amount of unruly puffin related behaviour the day on the whole went smoothly and sunnily.

As for the rest of the day, well it was the usual programme, across the Green to the Coach and Horses where an area outside the pub had been coned off for us to dance in. this did not stop the die hard traditionalists setting up over the road for Princess Royal. A stand and a stop at the bell for lunch, flowers in the church, beer for charity at the old White Hart, up to Manor Road and Le Halle Place and back to the Bell for tea and cakes - many thanks to the caterers - and then a final spot outside the Bell with Bloxham and the Village.

So how did it all work out in the end? We can do no better than quote Mr. Le Mare: "I went to the Adderbury Parish Council Day of Dance committee meeting last night, and the feeling that everyone there had was how well the day had gone and how pleased the village is with the results of the extra security and publicity etc. So we will do much the same next year with hopefully the police being there in the same numbers. We understood that the Police were concerned with the way the road is blocked to traffic by the Bell, (they should have been at the meeting) so the council is looking into the viability of closing the road from 11.00 in the morning to 7.00 at night."
